In Dalmatia, "Pape" is a traditional term of endearment for a father. This villa is our tribute to the man who built it—our Pape.

Pape was a highly successful man in his professional life, navigating the high-pressure world of business. But this house was his true sanctuary. It was his getaway, his "home away from home" where the stress dissolved the moment he saw the Adriatic Sea. He loved everything about Podgora: the profound calmness, the early morning fishing, the simple, honest food, and above all, the warm-hearted people.

He built this house so his family could gather, slow down, and share in the beauty of the coast. Though he recently passed away, his spirit remains the foundation of Villa Pape. Every stone, every olive tree, and the very atmosphere of this home reflects his deep love for life, family, and the sea.

We are Mateo and Nina, locals who live here all year round. We absolutely love Podgora, and we consciously chose to build our lives here, sharing our authentic way of living with our guests.
